The Adjusting Function is responsible for verifying policy coverage and limits. The Adjusting function investigates and evaluates damage and/or liability; estimates damages, losses, or total indemnity; sets and maintains reserves; and/or negotiates and settles claims. Property claims involve resolution of first and/or third party property-related claims.
Under general supervision, this job is responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling moderately complex claims involving the contents of a homeowner loss such as fire, water, or theft. The individual handles claims that typically require alternative housing during the restoration of the property. The individual travels to the loss site to conduct a thorough analysis. The individual evaluates damages, determines loss coverage, and authorizes payments. The individual also delivers compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention. The individual is capable of working independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload. The individual also consistently meets band level behaviors, production, quality, and/or customer service goals.

This is a Home Based Worker position. Candidates will need to be located within the Pacific Standard Time Zone in order to be considered.
Position includes weekends and/or pacific standard time (PST). The work schedule could be either Tues-Sat or Thurs-Sun (PST).
This position is not available to California residents.
This role involves taking care of customers in their times of need. As a result, you must be willing to work some Saturdays and extended hours if necessary.
If offered the role, you will go through virtual training. You will receive ongoing support, mentoring and coaching as you develop your career.
Customer Service
⦁ Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
⦁ Researches and responds to moderately complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
File Documentation and Reporting
⦁ Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes
⦁ Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
Coverage, Liability and Evaluation
⦁ Investigates, reviews, determines and verifies coverage/policy information
⦁ Provides coverage explanation to customer
Damage Estimating
⦁ Notifies insured of exposure over the policy limit
⦁ Organizes and reconciles bills
⦁ Reviews mitigation bills
⦁ Completes and reviews contents inventory, contents pricing, and analysis
⦁ Conducts fast track estimating
⦁ Handles ALE (additional living expense) claims
⦁ Inspects and estimates contents damage in a dwelling
⦁ Handles claims that include Public Adjuster involvement
⦁ Adheres to applicable compliance standards
Negotiation and Settlement Guidance
⦁ Negotiates and settles claims in accordance with business unit best practices
Other Projects and Responsibilities
⦁ May participate in one or more moderately complex special assignments
⦁ May serve as a committee team lead for smaller projects or as a committee team member on medium projects
⦁ Conducts subrogation investigations
