Rotational Development Programs

Allstate’s Rotational Programs are intentionally designed to help you start and grow your career as a versatile leader. Through Allstate’s transformative culture you can add meaningful insight, challenge ideas, gain leadership experience and much more.

Our Rotational Development Programs are designed to accelerate your growth and build your leadership skills through rotational assignments, formal mentoring relationships and learning workshops. Our programs include:

Technology Development Program

Our Technology Development Program (TDP) is a two-year program that builds versatile technologists and technology leaders by providing cross-functional experience through four technology rotations. While all four rotations take place within our technology organization, you’ll be exposed to a variety of technology operations while building your business acumen and leadership skills.

You’ll see Allstate from multiple perspectives, while building stronger networks and gaining a better understanding of how the company functions as a whole. Your assignments will involve technical skills development, people management, client-facing work, operations, strategy, change management and project management. Your assignments could include:

  • Working on emerging technologies and using innovative techniques that are shaping the future, including Agile XP programming, rapid product prototyping, scrum, data analytics and machine learning
  • Building innovative self-service solutions that maximize the customer experience
  • Partnering with business teams to develop and deploy transformative technology solutions to provide the best products and services to our customers
  • Solving complex business and technology problems by providing simple, creative, innovative, and cost-effective solutions
  • Leading projects and managing teams
  • Building infrastructure to support digital transformation

Finance Development Program

Allstate’s Finance Development Program is designed to help you start and grow your career as a versatile leader by providing cross-functional experience through two rotations within the Finance organization.

Each rotation lasts one full year within different areas of Finance and Risk to build the business acumen and deep expertise imperative for successful leadership at Allstate. Rotations within each area could include Accounting, Audit, Corporate/Business Finance, Corporate Strategy, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Investments Finance, Tax, and Treasury.

In this program, your assignments can involve:

  • People, project, and change management
  • Client-facing work
  • Operations
  • Strategy

Data Analyst Rotational Program

In Allstate’s Data and Analytics department, you’ll be surrounded by 330+ tenacious and intellectually curious colleagues in an inclusive culture that encourages you to take risks, challenge the status quo and shape the future for the greater good.  We are solving some of today’s most complicated analytics problems, making the lives of our Allstate colleagues easier and more productive, and driving our mission to deliver targeted insurance solutions to our customers.  We are partnering to incorporate analytics into every aspect of the enterprise. We are avid about learning new ways to get the most value from our massive data resources and leading-edge technology.

This role will be part of a select cohort of analysts in Data and Analytics who will participate in a year-long program to rotate within the Data Science department as Data Scientists, Data Analytic Engineers, and Business Analytic Consultants.

Once you complete the program, you will be placed in a team within the department. As a Data Analyst, you will be learning how to use data to lead decision making and provide business improvements.

Internship Programs

Through Allstate’s Internship Program you will use your voice, add insight to the organization and gain hands on experience. Your 12 week internship will expose you to projects that have an impact throughout the organization. Interns who are high performers during their internship will have the opportunity to apply to return internships and/or Full-Time opportunities within Allstate.

Interns work in different departments across Allstate, including Technology, Data Science, Finance and Investments.

Apprenticeship Program

Through Allstate’ Apprenticeship Program you will gain hands on experience while in a 2-year Community College or Technical School. During your 12-24 months at Allstate, you will earn and learn on the job, along with receiving career guidance and mentorship opportunities. Apprentices who are high performers during their program will have the opportunity to full-time opportunities within Allstate. Apprentices work in different departments across Allstate, including Human Resources and Technology.

Apprenticeships are “earn-and-learn” programs that combine formal learning (e.g. in-person, virtual or computer-based training) with paid, on-the-job training experiences. Businesses design apprenticeships in a number of ways, but the common thread is that they are mutually beneficial. Apprenticeships provide individuals with high-quality career pathways while helping employers develop their workforce for the needs of tomorrow. Apprenticeship is a win-win approach for a bright future of work. Some key benefits of an apprenticeship are:
