Planning & Integration Lead
Your role in the team
Our technology strategists evaluate broad technology trends and disruptive innovations – and then interpret the implications and opportunities for our business. We provide an objective, independent perspective enabling Allstate to realize the full potential of technology resources, investments and assets. As advisory partners, we bring together the right voices and thought leadership to make informed decisions and set the strategic direction for how Allstate can leverage technology to create competitive advantage. The Planning and Integration lead is responsible for executing the design, delivery and strategic initiatives required to deliver on department and broader Enterprise goals. Additionally, the Planning and Integration lead will partner across the enterprise to develop cutting-edge technology strategies that enable Allstate to achieve near and long-term goals.
Key responsibilities
- Leverages business knowledge to support the conversion of thinking of others and/or supports acceptance of complex ideas where difficult (but necessary) to achieve goals and objectives
- Supports the development of a vision, direction, and specific objectives for targeted organizational areas and assists in integrating that vision across multiple areas
- Applies knowledge to complex situations, where alternatives are numerous, to drive business solutions on behalf of the organization
- Supports the communication of the technology strategy to the organization so they understand their roles, are motivated to achieve established goals and have line of the sight between their work and Allstate strategies
- Responsible for helping to drive our enterprise technology strategy forward, including planning of work and resources
- Acting as a thought leader by developing ideas that have long-term, strategic impact and align with broader Enterprise strategies
- Recommends and implements change across multiple organizations in alignment with enterprise change initiatives; uses personal influence to enlist employees and peers in implementing change
- Models and creates an environment of accountability within the team and for peer groups by setting clear objectives in support of strategic business outcomes
- Leads strategists in achieving significant assignments by creating structure and leveraging processes that enable oversight of delivery while allowing freedom of action
Essential Skills
- A minimum 5 years’ project and program management experience in multiple technology environments and/or consulting experience in technology solutions.
- Demonstrated track record in delivering multiple complex IT projects and/or programs as well as managing/mentoring of project managers with a strong focus on execution.
- Experience of waterfall and agile development methodologies.
- Should be familiar with the use of Agile Lifecycle management tools (VersionOne, Jira, Rally, TFS)
- Works with Product Tech Lead to identify technical dependencies, create mitigation plans between teams, etc.
- Coordinate closely with business Product Managers and other stakeholders to break down initiative work, influence the prioritization of initiative work within the product backlogs and track initiative dependencies across products.
Desirable Skills
- 4 year Bachelor’s Degree
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information across various levels of the enterprise
- Ability to communicate program scope, vision, and roadmap across the organization
- Proven knowledge of Allstate’s product Offerings, the business domain and who the influencers are.
- Proven experience with use of collaboration tools
