Job Description
The Software Engineer Senior Consultant II will be responsible for providing Level 2 and Level 3 production support for the Claims Application. This role is pivotal in ensuring system reliability, performance, and stability, while also contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business-critical applications to support operational and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2 and 3 support for Claims applications, including incident resolution, defect fixes, and root cause analysis.
- Lead and manage production deployments and releases, including code promotion, downtime coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Monitor and maintain production processes, jobs, and system stability through proactive issue resolution and log analysis.
- Escalate unresolved issues while ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance performance, stability, and user experience.
- Collaborate across teams – business analysts, developers, DBAs, infrastructure, and third-party vendors – to support and enhance application functionality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous integration, delivery, and structured software development.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with established coding standards.
- Coordinate with IT Operations to align infrastructure and software with business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• 8+ years of experience across all phases of software development, including design, development, testing, debugging, implementation, and source control.
• Strong proficiency in the .NET Framework (v4.5 and above).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and SOLID design principles.
• Proficient in C# and working knowledge of VB.NET.
• Hands-on experience with ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as AngularJS, Knockout, or React.
• Strong knowledge of web services, including SOAP and REST (WCF, Web API).
• Advanced SQL Server skills (2012+), including:
- T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, indexes, triggers
- SQL Server Agent jobs and SSIS package development
- Performance tuning and optimization of queries
• Working experience with Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with software design and architectural patterns.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Code review and evaluation experience.
• Hands-on experience with ADO deployments.
Desired Skills:
- Possess experience in the insurance industry and/ or basic knowledge of insurance
- Familiar with ITSM ticketing tools
- Experience with GIT source control
- Experience with relational databases
- Understanding of data modeling concepts

• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

Compensation
Base compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 – $125,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
