Job Description
Allstate Investments is seeking a hands on Platform Specialist to drive development and enhancement of our Research & Analytics Platform, which supports investment decision making across public asset classes. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical instincts, curiosity, and the ability to translate investment needs into actionable development work.
Your role sits at the intersection of fundamental and quantitative investment research, analytics, technology, and data. Each day, you will engage with portfolio managers and analysts on new ideas that can improve their decision making, translating those ideas into tangible deliverables. You will work with technology teams to develop delivery plans and ensure progress is visible and well understood.
You will serve as a key point of contact for the business, providing transparency into development work through regular status updates, prototypes, and feedback cycles. You will manage a growing library of business requirements and backlog items, and develop KPIs to measure how effectively the platform delivers meaningful business improvements.
You will be pivotal in improving the speed, scale, and consistency with which the organization researches, evaluates, and executes investment ideas.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive platform enhancements by translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- Manage a structured roadmap and release plan, balancing near‑term needs with longer‑term improvements.
- Coordinate with engineering, BSA, UX, QA, and investment teams to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
- Manage intake, prioritization, and communication processes to maintain transparency on upcoming work.
- Proactively communicate development progress, roadmap proposals, and team bandwidth to senior stakeholders and steering committees, ensuring visibility into what is in motion and what is coming next.
- Navigate SQL Server or similar databases to validate data, understand lineage, or help diagnose issues during development and testing.
- Oversee UAT phases, manage feedback, track issues, and ensure coordinated releases.
- Monitor platform usage and adoption to assess user engagement and identify future opportunities.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in investment management, product ownership, analytics platform delivery, or related roles.
- Demonstrated ability to drive execution and deliver measurable improvements to tools, workflows, or data products.
- Working knowledge of investment analytics (e.g., fixed income, structured credit, loans, performance attribution).
- Familiarity with credit analysis concepts, credit models, and associated workflows.
- Ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
- Comfort navigating SQL‑based environments to validate or troubleshoot data.
- Strong communication, organization, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Regular presence in the office (2–3 days per week on average).
Preferred
- Experience with multi‑asset analytics platforms or front‑office tools.
- CFA, FRM, or advanced degree preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and operate effectively in complex environments.
What This Role Offers
- Visible impact improving a platform used daily by analysts, portfolio managers, and researchers.
- A culture that values curiosity, debate, continuous learning, and process excellence.
- Exposure to both fundamental and quantitative investment approaches, with opportunities to scale research across asset classes.
- A dynamic environment where market developments, new ideas, and investment discussions shape daily decisions.
- Space to introduce fresh ideas, refine workflows, and drive the platform’s continued evolution.
