Job Description
The Underwriting Coordinator role manages the incoming workflow of various work requests to the Group Underwriting team, ensuring accurate assignment, case setup and timely turnaround.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate case set-up and annotation across internal systems.
- Manages workload to ensure client needs are addressed and agency expectations are met.
- Communicate to internal departments and external Sales Executives through phone and e-mail in a professional manner.
- Accurate documentation of group plan design, participation, and rating during annual group product anniversary renewal review
- Manages time effectively to prioritize workload.
- Suggests business process improvements to gain efficiency within the role.
- Provides feedback at team meetings as well as contributes to learning topics as assigned.
- Strives to learn and grow by demonstrating initiative daily.
- Acts as a valued member of the team, including assisting in training and mentorship of newly hired Coordinators.
- Manage the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various assigned tasks.
- Works special projects as needed.
- Participates in peer review and quality control for team(s) as needed.
- Sets up cases in the GI/CGI Tool and notes the Quick Sheets on behalf of the UW team.
- Maintain and prioritize requests to the GI Escalation Team e-mail box.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient understanding of Sales Force (CRM) and application workflows.
- Excel Word, and Power Point.
- Genelco.
- AWD (Automated Workplace Distribution) work.
- Strong attention to details.
- Adept communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal business partners.
- Proven prioritization and time management skills with accurate results.
- Organizational, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Expert on systems and workflows. Serves as a resource to others (train, problem solver, coach) and conduit for feedback to internal underwriting partners.
- Keeps current on Allstate business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations and trends.

- Minimum of 2 years of Voluntary Benefits Insurance experience

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $17.69 – 26.88 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
