Job Description
A day in the life of an Inside Mediation Property Adjuster:
This job is responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling first party property claims. This individual works closely with the Florida Department of financial services mediator, insureds and their representatives, claims leadership and others to resolve claims.
Virtual Schedule:
Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm; Role will be mostly remote, but travel may be required
Key Responsibilities:

Negotiates and settles claims in accordance with business unit best practices

Determines claim value, including updating Xactimate Estimates with additional scope as needed. (add)
-
(add) Creates negotiation plans based on Xactimate Estimates prepared for potential scope exposures and obtain authority as needed to negotiate claim when in mediation.

Sets initial reserve, updates reserve, documents rationale and claim summary notes
-
Determines and explains policy coverages and coverage limits in moderate and complex claims involving single or multiple claimants (take that part out)
-
Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
-
Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes
-
Researches and responds to complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
-
Assists in researching or responding to or resolving complex compliance issues and in reviewing files and making recommendations to refer files to Home Office for escalation (delete)
-
Researches, responds to, or participates in Department of Insurance complaints or investigations (delete)
-
Reviews medical reports in preparation for claims settlement evaluation (remove)
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Have 5+ years of Xactimate property claims estimating experience (fire, water, wind/hail, etc.).

Have prior experience managing and estimating complex property claims.
-
Have prior experience using Xactimate estimating software. (option to remove as duplication with above)
-
Value providing an effortless customer service experience.

Have a strong background in negotiation and conflict management.
-
Are organized, successful at time management and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Are known for patient, clear, and professional communication – both written and verbal.
-
This position is not available to Alaska, California, Hawaii or Washington residents.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $50,000.00 – 82,542.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
