Product Manager – Third Party Data Strategy

Job Description
The Product Manager – Third Party Data Strategy is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the National General Vehicle underwriting data strategy. They will oversee a team of product analysts that will be responsible for vetting new data products and onboarding them, monitoring the quality of the production data and investigating anomalies, and optimizing the ROI for all reports run to ensure maximum efficacy. Their vision will be integral in continuing to support a culture of growth and product ingenuity. The environment they work in is fast-paced and requires consistently acting with a sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities
• Partners with product development and state product managers to ensure that vendor products are situated to maximize product segmentation.
• Develops future state vision of UW data strategy as the industry continues to evolve. Partners with peers within the organization to ensure alignment.
• Helps manage vendor report ordering at all points in the quote funnel for multiple discrete channels to ensure that reports are being run at the proper time based on the cost and corresponding value they provide.
• Responsible for daily monitoring of UW vendor reports to ensure they are all working as intended and within SLA’s.
• Serves as liaison for multiple data vendors and works with them to continue to refine current products as they evolve and vet out emerging products for viability and perform data tests when feasible. Develops CBA for potential products in harmony with product development.
• Partners with procurement on all contract needs including developing negotiation strategies to ensure current and future needs are accounted for. Works to obtain all required signoffs and assessments from various departments as needed.
• Manage and develop a team of high-achieving product analysts to ensure they maximize their potential.
• Develops annual budget for all consumer reports spend and adjusts as needed when changes are made to forecast. Monitors closely for variances and works with accounting and finance as needed.
• Helps develop requirements for new and existing data integrations which considers all constituents.
Skills
Analytical mindset, requirements development, underwriting acumen, leadership and team building, deep knowledge of various vendor products.
Education
• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Experience
• 7 or more years of experience (Preferred) working in the third-party data space.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This job has supervisory duties. Prior supervisory experience is a plus but is not a requirement.
Education & Experience (in lieu)
• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation
Base compensation offered for this role is $104,000 -$163,380 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
*** Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.
