Job Description
The Vice President, Property Claims is responsible for driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction within the Property Claims organization. This role leads key functions and initiatives that support the strategic direction of the business, with a focus on property claims performance, technology integration, and talent development. The VP partners closely with senior leaders across Claims and other business units to ensure alignment with enterprise goals and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of strategies to improve property claims handling, loss cost accuracy, and customer experience outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to implement technology enhancements that streamline property claims processes and support business growth.
- Drive performance against key metrics including claims expense ratio, settlement timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the resolution of complex property claims and ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships and offshore/onshore operations to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Foster a high-performing team culture by aligning talent to business priorities and investing in leadership development.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization and promote a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to property claims.
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the Delivery Group, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, effective execution of initiatives, and continuous improvement in performance and service delivery.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role includes direct leadership of managers and indirect oversight of broader teams across multiple locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Property Claims or related insurance operations.
- Strong background in claims strategy, operations, and technology implementation.
- Experience managing large teams and cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated success in driving results, managing change, and influencing across organizational boundaries.
Leadership Traits:
- Strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset.
- Data-driven decision-maker with a focus on continuous improvement.
