Job Description
The Business Intelligence Developer provides development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of Business Intelligence solutions and reports through the use of the modern Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, and/or other tools as we transition to a more modern data warehouse architecture and data modeling. This role is responsible for the aggregation of data from multiple sources into an efficient data warehouse and designing reporting solutions for very large multi-dimensional databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the migration of legacy SSIS packages to Azure Data Factory or Microsoft Fabric Data Factory pipelines.
- Architect and implement scalable, cloud-native ETL/ELT solutions using Azure Data Factory and/or Microsoft Fabric.
- Design and optimize data flows within Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, leveraging lakehouse architecture and real-time analytics.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports with complex DAX calculations and data modeling.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and performance across hybrid environments.
- Document integration and reporting processes and mentor internal team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Proven success in migrating SSIS workloads to Azure Data Factory using Azure-SSIS IR or native ADF pipelines.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including: Fabric Data Factory pipeline development / Lakehouse architecture and OneLake integration / Real-time data ingestion and orchestration.
- 3+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer, including: Advanced DAX programming for calculated columns, measures, and time intelligence / Data modeling and performance optimization/ Integration with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data sources
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of data warehouse design principles and dimensional modeling.
- Knowledgeable with tools in the modern Microsoft BI stack (Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Fabric Warehouse, Power BI, etc.).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, Fabric) is a plus.
- Familiar with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or other big data technologies.
- Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines and DevOps practices.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
- Experience with Synapse, Power Bi Service and enterprise BI Deployment Strategies.
