About the Role
As a Data Center Services Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the critical systems that power Allstate’s technology infrastructure. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers to learn how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, servers, and network-connected devices that keep our business running efficiently and securely.
This internship is ideal for students interested in IT infrastructure, data center operations, and networking — especially those who enjoy solving complex problems and learning through real-world experience.
What You’ll Do

Assist with the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers and network-connected devices.

Monitor system performance, review alerts, and document findings or resolutions.

Support troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues under the guidance of senior engineers.

Participate in data center improvement projects and routine maintenance activities.

Learn to follow safety procedures and change control processes used in enterprise environments.

Collaborate with Network Operations and Engineering teams to maintain system reliability.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Graduation Date: Dec 2026 – Dec 2028

Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, or system administration.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.

Interest in learning about data center environments and enterprise infrastructure.

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) or automation tools (e.g., Ansible) is a plus.
-
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA (in progress or completed) are a plus but not required.
Work Schedule
-
On-site internship at either Rochelle, IL or Hudson, OH.
-
Openings available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts — preference for 3rd shift.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week.

Specific shift assignments will be determined based on candidate availability and team needs.
