Job Description
The Administration and Real Estate Internship is a rotational experience designed to provide broad exposure to corporate real estate operations and administrative functions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas, including portfolio management, design and construction, leasing, facilities maintenance, data center operations, and retail administration. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand the end-to-end real estate lifecycle within a corporate environment while contributing to strategic projects and day-to-day activities.
Internship Details
• Schedule: Hybrid; in-office Tuesday–Thursday (Suburban Office)
• Locations: Travel is required to multiple Chicagoland locations
o Suburban Office: 2775 Sanders Road, Northbrook, IL 60062
o River Point Office: 444 W Lake Street, Chicago, IL 60606
o Allstate Investment Management: 444 W. Lake St 45th Floor Chicago, IL 60606
o Data Center: 1425 Dement Road, Rochelle, IL 61068
What You’ll Learn
- How corporate real estate teams manage property portfolios and optimize space utilization
- Best practices in compliance, sustainability, and operational efficiency
- Skills in project management, financial analysis, and vendor relations
- The full real estate lifecycle—from leasing and design to facilities and data center operations
What You’ll Do
- Assist with portfolio analysis, including data gathering and reporting on property performance
- Support design and construction teams with project documentation and vendor coordination
- Participate in leasing activities by reviewing agreements and preparing summaries
- Shadow facilities maintenance operations to learn preventive maintenance processes
- Contribute to data center and retail administration projects, ensuring compliance with standards
- Prepare presentations and reports for leadership meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand workflows and contribute to process improvements
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Effective communication skills and willingness to learn in a team environment
- Familiarity with real estate concepts and financial modeling
- Interest in corporate facilities and sustainability initiatives
