As a Field Property Adjuster, you’ll provide exceptional service to policyholders by inspecting property damage, interpreting coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly and accurately. While this is a statewide evergreen posting used to pre‑screen candidates for multiple Maryland territories, the core responsibilities are consistent across all locations.
You will travel to customers’ homes to conduct onsite inspections and support virtual claim handling across the country using platforms such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. A special emphasis is placed on water losses, requiring strong technical knowledge and empathy-driven communication.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct onsite inspections of property damage and document findings
- Evaluate coverage, determine liability, and prepare accurate estimates
- Handle both in‑person and virtual claims
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with customers using phone, email, or video
- Negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, and third parties
- Maintain precise documentation within our claim systems
- Use tools such as Xactimate, job aids, and multiple estimating platforms to process claims efficiently
What It Takes
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3 years of field adjusting experience
- Proficiency with Xactimate
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage both onsite and virtual claims
- Residency within Maryland or willingness to relocate
Required Qualifications
- Ability to carry a 50‑lb ladder and access 6/12 pitch roofs
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within assigned territory
- Willingness to complete 2‑weeks of training in Dallas, TX
Licensing Requirements
If required by the territory, you will be supported in obtaining adjuster/appraiser licenses within 60 days.
