We’re looking for a creative, collaborative, and high-energy attorney who thrives at the intersection of law and business. This role sits within the Business Law division of Allstate’s Law and Regulation department and offers the opportunity to counsel on a wide range of complex commercial agreements by primarily supporting Allstate’s non-insurance businesses.
This position is ideal for an experienced attorney who brings strong business acumen and transactional skills, embraces complexity, and enjoys partnering with sales and other cross-functional teams to drive results for multiple business areas.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements—especially those involving the sale of technology, data, or service arrangements.
- Provide real-time, business-focused commercial legal advice on complex commercial contracts and in areas such as technology and privacy.
- Effectively collaborate across business units, compliance, and legal teams to identify issues, drive solutions, and complete commercial transactions.
- Lead development of templates, playbooks, and process improvements to support efficient contract review and negotiation.
- Anticipate legal issues and offer practical, innovative solutions in fast-paced and dynamic business environments.
- Help foster alignment between business goals and legal frameworks in regulated industries.

- This is a remote role with travel required. While the position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., preferred home office locations include Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC; or Scottsdale, AZ due to team collaboration and business travel considerations.

Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctorate and active bar membership in good standing
- A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, ideally within a law firm or the in-house legal department of a mid- to large-sized organization.
- Proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: commercial contracting, privacy, technology, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, corporate strategy, data governance, international operations, and/or highly regulated industries.
- Experience working within a corporate parent company and across a family of affiliated entities.

Compensation offered for this role is 151,700.00 – 220,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
