The Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building and operating the dashboards, data products, Microsoft Fabric assets, and automation capabilities that support TORC-wide risk and regulatory efforts. This role will work closely with Risk Insights, Risk Engineering, Digital Product Managers, and TORC stakeholders to translate data and process needs into reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. The Engineer will play a key role in reducing manual effort, improving data quality, automating recurring tasks, and helping TORC teams make faster, more evidence-based decisions through trusted dashboards and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and insight products that help TORC leaders and delivery teams understand risk, regulatory progress, control health, and operational priorities.
-
Develop and operate Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including data pipelines, semantic models, workspaces, datasets, reporting assets, and supporting platform processes.
-
Create Python-based automations that streamline recurring TORC tasks, regulatory activities, evidence handling, data preparation, reporting workflows, and operational follow-ups.
-
Build, enhance, and support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and publication processes so dashboards and automation outputs are accurate, timely, and trusted.
-
Partner with TORC stakeholders, Digital Product Managers, risk teams, and platform teams to understand requirements, clarify data needs, and deliver practical solutions that are adopted by users.
-
Apply strong engineering practices, including clean and reusable Python code, version control, automated checks, documentation, monitoring, and maintainable solution design.
-
Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting, regulatory tracking, data reconciliation, and operational processes across TORC, then design and deliver practical solutions.
-
Support agile delivery by contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and continuous improvement of the team’s delivery practices.
Essential Skills:
-
All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy.
-
A minimum of 3 + years in hands-on Python development experience, including scripting, automation, data manipulation, API integration, error handling, testing, and maintainable code design.
-
Minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience coaching or mentoring engineers, with evidence of improving individual or team technical capability across full-stack, microservices, or risk product delivery.
-
Professional engineering experience building data products, dashboards, automations, reporting solutions, or analytics capabilities in an enterprise environment.
-
Experience creating dashboards and reporting products that translate complex data into clear, usable insight for leadership, operational teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or similar enterprise analytics platforms, including datasets, pipelines, workspaces, semantic models, and report publication processes
-
Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, access considerations, documentation, and operational support practices for production reporting and automation solutions.
-
Ability to work with stakeholders to understand business problems, define requirements, challenge assumptions, and deliver solutions that are practical, reliable, and easy to use.
-
Comfort working in an agile delivery environment, contributing to planning, estimation, refinement, demos, and iterative improvement of team products.
Desirable Skills:
-
Experience working in risk, compliance, controls, regulatory, audit, technology operations, security, or enterprise reporting environments.
-
Experience automating evidence collection, task tracking, regulatory follow-ups, data reconciliation, reporting refreshes, or workflow handoffs using Python or similar tooling.
-
Ability to design dashboards with strong user experience, clear measures, drill-down paths, adoption-focused layouts, and meaningful operational narratives.
