Job Description
This role is responsible for managing the lifecycle of digital products, automation capabilities, and strategic transformation initiatives that support Internal Audit. Professional Practices & Strategy team, serves as the primary liaison between Internal Audit assurance and technology teams and the Lead Consultant on the team will be responsible for translating business needs into a strategic product roadmap and prioritized backlog that maximizes value across Internal Audit.
This role acts as the front door for innovation, modernization, and process improvement opportunities. Working closely with audit leaders, stakeholders, and engineering resources, this role gathers feedback and requirements, evaluates opportunities, prioritizes investments based on strategic value and capacity, and ensures delivered solutions meet business needs. The Audit Lead Consultant is also responsible for driving change management, communications, and adoption activities that help teams successfully integrate new tools and ways of working. This aligns with the Professional Practices & Strategy team’s role in managing the departmental backlog, supporting transformation initiatives, and communicating changes across the department.
In addition to digital product ownership, this role may support broader Professional Practices & Strategy initiatives, including stakeholder communications, department reporting, strategic planning activities, and operational improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary intake and prioritization lead for automation, innovation, analytics, AI, and process improvement opportunities across Internal Audit.
- Partner with Internal Audit assurance and technology teams to understand business challenges, identify opportunities, and define desired outcomes.
- Establish and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned to departmental strategy, risk, business value, and resource capacity.
- Lead product discovery activities to validate assumptions, gather stakeholder feedback, and define requirements.
- Translate business objectives into user stories, acceptance criteria, and development priorities for engineering teams.
- Own backlog prioritization, refinement, sequencing, and value realization activities.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, including planning, testing, demonstrations, and implementation.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet user expectations, business requirements, and intended outcomes prior to deployment.
- Develop and execute communication, training, and change management plans to support successful adoption of new capabilities.
- Measure adoption, stakeholder satisfaction, and business impact and communicate results to leadership.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, automation opportunities, and industry best practices that can improve Internal Audit effectiveness and efficiency.
- Support broader Professional Practices & Strategy initiatives, including department communications, reporting, strategic initiatives, and operational improvement activities.
- Partner with leaders to communicate transformation priorities, roadmap progress, and implementation updates across the department.
- Facilitate collaboration between Assurance teams, Professional Practices & Strategy, and engineering resources to accelerate delivery and maximize value.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product management, digital transformation, business process improvement, technology delivery, Internal Audit, risk management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs within an Agile environment.
- Proven experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong experience working directly with software engineering teams and participating in Agile ceremonies.
- Experience leading organizational change management and technology adoption initiatives.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and make data-informed prioritization decisions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and support evolving transformation priorities.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within Internal Audit or Risk Management environments.
