Your role in the team
The Enterprise Economic and Risk Analysis (EERA) group in Allstate’s Enterprise Risk and Return Management (ERRM) division is the Enterprise Risk Analytics team at Allstate. We are passionate about our work, solving some of today’s most complex risk analytics problems applied directly to strategic and financial risk management. The Director, EERA, will work closely and directly with the VP-Enterprise Economics & Risk Analysis/Chief Economist and will have managerial oversight of major components of the firm’s Economic Capital framework. This includes the estimation, aggregation, and allocation of Economic Capital at the enterprise level, as well as all related stress testing and scenario analytics. In covering Allstate’s entire portfolio, across all risk silos and lines of business, the Director must have not only extensive managerial experience, but also broad experience across Allstate, and strong understanding of finance and statistical concepts.

As the Director, Economic Capital, you will:

Responsible for delivering economic capital and scenario analysis for the Strategic Plan and Operational Plan as well as regular submissions to Senior Leadership and Board

Partner with chief risk officers, risk and finance organizations, and other business areas to evaluate risk-return tradeoffs, assess risk-return implications of strategic and operating plans, and embed the ERRM framework across the organization

Work closely and collaboratively with financial analysts and data scientists to estimate, aggregate, and allocate economic capital at the enterprise level, across the firm’s entire portfolio of risks and businesses

Ability to incorporate a comprehensive, holistic view of risk and return that effectively captures multiple internal and external perspectives

Work closely and collaboratively with multiple teams to understand and implement cross-disciplinary solutions to complex business challenges
-
Create focused and transparent risk-return communications for senior leadership, board, internal, and external parties to facilitate engaged dialogue and decision-making
-
Lead teams to solve complex, abstract problems to deliver projects in support of enterprise risk and corporate objectives
