Job Description
Join a dynamic global team managing Allstate’s Kubernetes-based Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) platforms across on-prem (VMware), AZURE and AWS environments. As a Container Platform Engineer, you’ll support and automate infrastructure using tools like Jenkins, YAML, CI/CD, and IaC, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Security, Splunk, Networking, and DevOps. You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on innovation, automation, and continuous learning—helping to design, build, and support enterprise-grade Kubernetes Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Cluster Management: Create, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS) and Azure (AKS), ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Life cycle Activities: Manage all the system lifecycle activities for the K8s clusters like – Upgrades, System component upgrades, bug fixes
- Experience with Systems, Application and Network performance/availability monitoring and analysis using tools such as tcpdump and wireshark
- Design and implement solutions to continuously deliver an enterprise software system hosted in Kubernetes.
- Maintain cloud resources using industry standard tools and technologies.
- Build, manage and operate the infrastructure and configuration of various components and tools that manage the software development lifecycle with a strong focus on automation and infrastructure as code
- Being a dependable and highly skilled development resource for peers through education and review.
- Having a broad awareness of related projects and industry trends and encourages innovative practices amongst peers.
- Advocates and models coding and collaboration practices, reviews team code, and provides team members with feedback and suggestions for process improvement.
- Collaborates with other team members to establish new best practices and maintainable processes.
- Diagnostic Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues related to networking, platform, application deployments and cluster performance.
- Debugging Techniques: Proficiency in using kubectl commands and other tools to troubleshoot various components within the Kubernetes environment.
- Security Management: Implement security best practices for Kubernetes environments, including IAM roles, network policies, and access controls and secrets management.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding data security and access.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the Kubernetes architecture, processes, and procedures for team reference.
- Proven experience working with infrastructure components (operating systems, compute, storage, networking, distributed systems, big data, cloud, containers, etc.) and solid understanding of the rest and how they impact services
Education
• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Education & Experience (in lieu)
