We are looking for a hands-on, highly experienced Database Administrator Lead Consultant to join a small, collaborative database engineering team supporting enterprise data platforms used by millions of consumers. This role combines deep technical database administration with performance optimization, security, reliability engineering, and modernization across mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will administer and support enterprise database platforms including SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. You will monitor, tune, and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability while supporting installations, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.

You will also support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including clustering, replication, backup, and recovery strategies. A key focus for this role will include supporting active-active disaster recovery capabilities and helping ensure database environments are designed for resilience across critical production systems.

You will partner closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and data engineering stakeholders to troubleshoot application performance issues, improve database design, strengthen security and access controls, and contribute to automation and modernization initiatives.

Compensation: The annual salary offered will be in the range of $140,000- $160,000. Please ignore the range given below as that constitutes the entirety of the job profile range.

Work Environment: Except for our Customer Care roles which necessitates onsite work, most other roles are remote. AIP is a remote-first company; however, our roles are open to in-office or flex work if you live in a city with a physical office location
Physical Demands: We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings and office collaboration tools. Employees will have to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery, as necessary. Employees must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.

When working from home, you must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating. Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
