The Allstate Foundation 2021 Highlights

Last year, The Allstate Foundation deepened its commitment to pursue equity so people and communities can thrive. With the help of engaged Allstaters, the Foundation supported nonprofits and made a significant impact to empower youth to succeed and lead, disrupt the cycle and prevalence of abuse and close the racial gap for careers with living wages.

In 2021, employees, agents, The Allstate Foundation and Allstate invested nearly $48 million and over 92,000 volunteer hours to support communities.

Using our talent for good

Allstate employees participated in five skills-based volunteering Days of Service generating more than $850,000 in social impact value for 58 nonprofits across the country.

Involving Allstate employees in grantmaking

Employee resource groups chose more than 50 nonprofits that best reflect their groups’ missions and values to receive Foundation grants totaling more than $550,000.

Joining forces in support of teachers

Allstate employees redeemed donor codes from The Allstate Foundation to contribute more than $265,000 to classrooms via DonorsChoose. The Foundation also invested $1.5 million in matching funds to launch DonorsChoose’s Racial Justice and Representation project category.

Pursing racial equity

The Allstate Foundation invested $6 million to support six new nonprofit partnerships as part of the racial equity program, all focused on closing the racial opportunity gap for careers with living wages. Seventy-one perfect of all Allstate Foundation grant funding went to organizations serving diverse and multicultural populations.

Opening up funding opportunities

The Foundation held an open call for grant applications from nonprofits focused on equity in youth empowerment and relationship abuse prevention awarding $4 million nationwide. This process allows more organizations to apply for funding to serve diverse communities.

Supporting disaster relief

We invested more than $1 million for nonprofits to address Hurricane Ida, California wildfires, Texas winter storms and COVID-19 relief in India.

Meeting the greatest needs

The Foundation distributed nearly $1 million in unrestricted grants to 73 organizations. Rare in philanthropy, these grants trust the organizations’ expertise to determine the best way to use the funds.

At Allstate, giving back is core to who we are. Together, we give, volunteer, and learn to build strong communities. The Allstate Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Allstate, provides programs that enable Allstate employees and agents to make a difference in communities across the country.
